STAR PLAYERS Thanks to plush fabrics and unexpected design details like offbeat embroidery, rejigged rugby shirts are the new wardrobe heroes. Ross, on unfamiliar turf with the game, winds up black-eyed, broken and slumped on the Central Perk sofa. He gets to wear a yellow-and-navy rugby jersey that renders him passably sexy even when it’s torn and splattered with mud. A lack of intimacy with the rough-and-tumble game hasn’t stopped them from casually sporting rugby shirts over the decades. And all that time—in fact, ever since the mid-to-late 1800s—its template has barely evolved: heavy cotton base, contrasting white collar, rubber buttons, horizontal stripes.

The gag order from District Judge Tanya Chutkan restricts Trump’s ability to publicly target court personnel, potential witnesses, special counsel Jack Smith and his staff. The appeals court has temporarily frozen the gag order as Trump continues to contest it. “The Gag Order violates President Trump’s most fundamental First Amendment rights. The former president was recently under a gag order in the $250 million New York state civil fraud case. “The entire Gag Order rests on an unconstitutional ‘heckler’s veto’ theory, so it is overbroad in its entirety.”Trump’s arguments were not persuasive when he tried to have Chutkan pause the gag order while his appeal unfolded.

CNN —The firing of Jimbo Fisher will reportedly cost Texas A&M University about $77 million to buy out his contract, according to multiple reports and the salary tracking website Spotrac, after the school relieved him of his duties as head football coach on Sunday. When Fisher was first named head football coach at Texas A&M in 2017, the university said he had agreed to a 10-year contract worth $75 million, adding no “state-appropriated funds” would be used toward his salary. The finances behind the decision to fire the coach are “monumental,” Ross Bjork, Texas A&M director of athletics, said during a Sunday evening news conference. “As the contract states, there is a buyout provision in coach Fisher’s contract and those details will be worked out,” Bjork said. He was hired in December 2017 after spending eight seasons as head coach at Florida State University, where he led the Seminoles to a national championship.

Support for the autoworkers fell short of the 55% support for striking Hollywood writers and actors in an AP-NORC poll conducted last month. In the new AP-NORC survey, 51% say labor unions help U.S. workers while only 15% say they hurt working people. About one-third say unions help the U.S. economy, while 22% say they damage the economy. MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — What would Bob Ross think? Growing up in a small town, Nelson said he was introduced to art through Ross' show and loves his paintings. “This isn’t an institution that’s telling you that Bob Ross is great. It’s not some high-brow gallery telling you that Bob Ross is great. Nelson bought the painting last year and then gave it a “not for sale” price of $9.85 million, said publicist Megan Hoffman.

CNN —It’s hard to quantify the value of painter and all-around cultural icon Bob Ross, but $9.85 million is a good start. The very first on-air painting from the very first episode of Ross’ beloved series “The Joy of Painting” is looking for a new owner after being kept safe for decades by one of the show’s early volunteers. It has been verified as authentic by Bob Ross Inc.A close-up of the work shows Ross' iconic signature. Modern ArtifactModern Artifact owner Ryan Nelson said Ross’ work has seen increasing demand over the years. “The driving force behind the increased demand for Bob Ross paintings seems to be collectors themselves,” Nelson said in a statement.

Illinois' Pretrial Fairness Act, which abolishes cash bail as a condition of pretrial release, will take effect Sept. 18, making Illinois the first state to end cash bail and a testing ground for whether — and how — it works on a large scale. Critics say cash bail policies are especially unfair to Black people and other people of color. In 2017, New Jersey essentially replaced its cash bail system with a risk assessment process that gauged the potential danger a released defendant could pose to the community. But cash bail is still allowed in some instances in that state and others that have curtailed the practice, such as New York and Alaska. California has made several efforts to reform its cash bail system, but lawmakers balked at sweeping reform.

How to Find a Real Estate Agent

According to the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials, more than three million people hold active real estate licenses in the U.S. That’s a lot of people with a range of experience and expertise. That’d be “knowledge,” says Philip Hordijk, founder of real-estate brokerage Leven Real Estate. A note of caution: Think hard before choosing a friend or family member to help with a real estate transaction. Search online directories—with careThere are plenty of third-party real estate sites that offer agent directories, too, including Realtor.com and Zillow. Real-estate broker vs. agentThere is also a differentiation between a real-estate agent and a real-estate broker.

New York CNN —Ira “Bob” Born, known as the “Father of Peeps,” died on Sunday. Just Born Quality Confections, the Pennsylvania-based company that makes various candies, including the chick-shaped marshmallows, confirmed Born’s death in a statement. His father, Sam, a Russian immigrant, founded Just Born a year prior. Ross Born told the Lehigh Valley News said his father was a “real mensch,” adding that he was a “kind person, he was generous with his talents, sharing his abilities.”“The candy business was kind of catchy … it was interesting to him,” Ross Born told the newspaper.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An 84-year-old man was convicted Thursday of shooting and killing a Kansas City lawyer who had won a multi-million judgment against him in a civil lawsuit. Prosecutors contended Jungerman shot Pickert because he was upset the attorney had won a $5.75 million judgment for a homeless man who Jungerman shot in 2012 because he thought the man was stealing from one of his businesses. “We are very, very thankful that the jury has spoken and that justice has finally been brought to this family,” Tim Dollar, assistant Jackson County prosecutor, said after the verdict was announced. During the trial, prosecutors played an audio recording of Jungerman bragging about the murder to his farmhand, Kansas City media reported.
Girls behind bars tell their stories
  + stars: | 2015-03-26 | by ( Ashley Fantz | ) edition.cnn.com   time to read: +5 min
“I say, ‘What’s gone on in your life?’ “The result of that tenderness and patience is Ross’ latest collection of photos, “Girls in Justice.”The images are unflinching. But the girls also tell their stories alongside the images. Photographer Richard Ross Richard RossOne photo shows a girl in a tan jumpsuit, hand on her head, sitting alone in a drab, cavernous room. Many of the stories are bleak, reflecting adults who endangered the girls or, at the very least, failed repeatedly to protect them. Ross seems to be saying the shame isn’t the girls’ – it’s ours as a society for jailing children.
